March update

This should be showing picture results of my 90 day weight loss challenge

What we have here is my day one next to my six month photos.
Since its been about a month since the pics above I made some current ones.

This is day one vs today March 30th.

My measurements:
2/29/12   48.25       50/46      48         296
3/30/12    47.75   48.5/45.75   48       287

Not too much to say tonight. Missed alot of working out since i started my current "day job".  This hasn't been an issue due to the work being very physical. Still miss the workouts. Tough mudder is coming up in about two weeks. It will really be a challenge, I am looking forward to it!

Five months later

Update:
Yes I know that it has been way to long since i posted an update to this blog. A lot has happened since the last post. For instance my first challenge was a complete success.

I ended my challenge losing 39.8 pounds, and losing 12.25" s from my body. 4.75" s off of my belly alone.  My goals for my first challenge started out as losing 35#'s. They ended up evolving into running two five k races, and plans that include a tough mudder event next spring.
The first five k run i did in 42:50, and the second i did in 39:21 with a month in between them. These were the first and second five k runs i have ever participated in.

So then over the month of December I slacked off a bit on the diet. I ate cookies and candies and all the holiday goodies at the family gatherings and over new years. I was going to the gym around 5 times a week and working with a trainer, so I did gain a lot of endurance and muscle. I gained about 6 pounds in December. :/
My 1 mile elliptical time dropped below ten minutes, my 5k elliptical time dropped below 29 minutes. I started use of a stair master which the first time i used it only lasted 90 seconds. In December i moved that time up to 25 minutes.

In January I rekindled my daily efforts to staying on track with my food choices and quantities. As of today i lost 17 pounds with two days left in January. I use the stair master regularly now and can do 30 minutes or more at a higher setting. Today i did 30 minutes at level 8 (3.5 floors / min).

My measurements:
date         chest        waist          hips        weight
8/26/11         54            57         53.5        354.4
11/23/11     49.75         52.25         50.25       314.6
1/28/12      49.75        51.5/47        49.75       302

I decided to take the waist measurement in two places. The original and first position in the most recent measurement is at the navel. I place a "/" then the next number is at the belt line. The hip measurement is at the widest part next down from the belt line about 6 or so inches.

Wednesday Good news :D

Well a bit of excitement this morning as i got up and weighed myself.

5.4 pounds lost. Where did they go? Should I gather up a posse? Or should I send some more running to the hills in fear for there lives? Not bad for only 5 days on the system eh?
:D
I think i will send some more running.  I skipped going to the gym yesterday. So that is only to gym sessions so far this week.  I will be going again here in a few minutes to do some more treadmill/elliptical work. Still full of energy that i am not quite sure what to do with yet....
Not sure that i have ever had this much energy before in my life.

I blended a peach into my shake this morning with the peach health flavor pack.
For lunch I had a chicken caesar salad and a water from quiznos.  I mixed about half of a little cup thing that they have at the relish bar one each of the red wine vinaigrette and horseradish. I mixed the two and put it on the salad. yum.
Finished a Neuro + Vi-slim in water for after lunch fun :D

Might try a cherry + strawberry shake for my third meal of the day. I have leftover strawberries still.
not sure, will see when the time comes.

New day new post

Lovely day today, woke up weighed myself, im down 2 pounds already.
Mixed up a shake with fresh strawberries and a banana. Was almost unable to finish it, and am still a bit full from it. Loving the energy from it, Vacuum'd the apartment and got some things accomplished around the house.
Heading over to the gym again in a few minutes. Exercise, me, really, lol I know, what am I thinking.
Where is this motivation from?  I can tell you one thing, it isnt from the shakes or the system, that is just a tool, a byproduct of a bigger picture inspire'r.

1My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:
2For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.
3Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart:
4So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.
5Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

He wants good things for me. He is guiding me to them, and through the trials along the way. I will give Him the credit for what He alone could do in my life. I thank Him for all of it.

So a wonderful day and now off to the gym with me!

Fort Wayne Regional.

Saturday started off really really early in the predawn hours.  I got up just after 5am blended up a banana, a packet of the banana health flavor mix in, ice, 2 scoops of Vi-Shape shake mix, some chobani plain greek yogurt and some water, for my morning shake.  I gathered the stuff i was taking with me, loaded it in the car and started driving.  It took me about 3 hours to get to the Hilton where the regional was being held. I found it with no trouble and arrived early enough to get through the registration table with ease.

Just before 10am Eric texted me wondering if i was there.  The team I'm a part of was having a little pre-event pow wow.  Melanie spoke for a little bit, then we had a group picture in the lobby. Then we filtered into the conference room.  I'm not one that is good at guessing crowd sizes, there were alot of people there.

The place was packed by the time the event started.

The group in the above photo on stage were the ones who lost more than 50#'s on their 90 day challenge. :)

There was so much good stuff at this event. From personal testimonials to technical instruction as well as personal development and motivational training.  The deluge of information was so much muchness that even furious note taking and Neuro powered attention span could not capture it all.

I spent the lunch break in my car attempting to digest what i my mind had packed into it that morning. I mixed up a quick shake with peach health flavor mix in and a packet of Vi-trim. I posted a bunch of good stuff i had learned and heard during the morning session to my facebook profile by way of my phone, also uploaded a couple videos of testimonies.

Overload is what i would have to say about the experience overall.  Hard to describe it, even if there were video of it, i dont think you could watch it enough times to catch all the good stuff that was given to us all that attended.

I went to dinner with several friends at a gyro restaurant near the hotel, and spent time with them before the after party later that night.  We went to a place called Early Birds, and took over the outdoor deck area.

Line in the sand commitment!!!
The only thing i can say about the event i posted sunday afternoon on my fb profile:

"Woo what a day yesterday. Such a good time of learning. Such a great group of people, can't wait till Atl :)"

-will.

It has arrived.

So the journey is under way.  The challenge kit has arrived, ive had my first official shake.
I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was very filling as well as tasty.  I used the chocolate health flavor mixin and the vi-trim clear control powder in this first shake.

I have tried herbalife shakes as well as slimfast in the past. Neither of the aforementioned shakes were as filling as the vi-shape shake was.

Stopped at the store to pick up a tape measure and a bathroom scale.
Here are the measurements:
Chest 53.5"
Belly at navel 57"
Hips   53.5"
Thighs 33"
Weight 354#'s
